Trips

I'm going to Montreal this weekend. It should be fun. For those curious about my trip through Scotland, I've managed to post half of my ramblings at Cycling Sasquach. Not all of the posts are still on the front page, so what may seem like never ending rants do go on ;)

Same as Mr. Phaneuf

Humm, somehow I got a score similar to Pierre's. However, I had less breasts and more ass.

A good day

Today has been a good day. First, I found greasemonkey for epiphany (I upgraded to gnome in experimental over the last week). Then found a script to make it so that I could use Google Video by opening the videos in ffplay. There are still some tweaks needed to make it slick, but it means that I can use Google Video using free software. Next I went to work, actually got some work done and started tuning the gears on my bicycle while my dad walked me through where to adjust things. Lastly, I came home and turned the external video display on in X, got xvattr and watched Short Circuit with my projector in GNU/Linux.

Attempted suicide #2

So, on my way home again, another vehicle (a mini-van) decided to illegally take the right of way away from me. This time the driver decided to run a red light and almost hit me. WHY CAN'T PEOPLE DRIVE?

After my flat tire, I took my bicyle into the store where I got it for a free tune-up and to get the tire fixed while I was there. They had my bicycle for a week, because they didn't call me when it was done. When I picked it up, the back tire was flat and the front derailer cable wasn't tighten and they had somehow messed up the rear derailer. At this point, I've decided it's not worth going back there, and I'll fix the gears myself. I know, I won't get them right the first, second, third time, but it will be worth the effort.

Randomness: Ataxx is a pretty cool game, it's in the gnome-games package. My planet is back.

CD's of the week

This weeks new music is: Laura Branigan, Enigma, and Crash Test Dummies. Thank you that is all.

Concerts

Today, Yvonne and I went to the download festival. The was a mix of good and bad bands there. The arcade fire was certainly the best. The bad thing that happened is on the way home from the concert, I ran my bicycle straight into a concrete block and fell over the front handle bars. I received minor scrapes on my legs as they hit the concrete block as I fell. My bicycle seemed to be undamaged. However, as we started riding my front tire suddenly went flat. That makes two flat tires this week. So, Yvonne walked with me most of the way back to my place as she was killing time until her bus would come by and allow her not to bike home. So, in the final stretch of the walk home, I crossed a tiny street near my house and some insane driver tried to run me and my bicycle over. I know I watched star wreck this morning, but that doesn't mean it is a good day to die.

Days like today

It's days like today, that I think I should have chosen a different job. Perhaps, it's days like today that really test if I have chosen a job that I am willing to fight for.

Gossip

I have a bed now. I also have more gossip from back home. Well, the gossip made me think, there are things I still want to do/have now, but I'm glad I am where I am and not elsewhere.

Simple birthday

Happy birthday to me! Today has been my birthday. It's been a very simple one. All I've done is sat around and watched the 3 star wars movies, the original ones too, not the special edition crap. Since I've gotten my projector it has slowly moved farther away from the wall it is projecting on. I think I've got it back as far as I can now, and it displayed image is almost the width of the wall, so I am now happy with the size of the screen.

Last night, I had some friends over, they stuck around till somewhere after midnight so we could serve cake and sing happy birthday. Friday night, there was a large group of us that went out to see Serenity. It was a good movie, but I hope they don't make any others because it felt like the movie was the end of the story. Perhaps the stories between the TV show and the movie could be told, but I think it's best not to.

Besides staying away from work this weekend, an accomplishment itself, I've managed to finish reading Stone Country this week along with ripping all the old CDs I had before I started ripping CDs.
